This is me. I'm a country girl from the ground up: dogs, cats, horses and mules are some of my favorite people. I believe in freedom of speech, the right to keep and arm bears, and the healing powers of homemade apple pie. I grew up in a bookish Methodist preacher's household and have always dabbled in the written word. Nowadays, when not training my working border collies and running them in sheepdog trials, I still write. Stuff. Fiction. Stories. Poems. Random contemplations. It's what I do. Writer. Me. Except when I don't, in which case it means I've been distracted by something shiny. Or furry, as the case may be.
In the course of my years, I've packed mules, cowboyed, shoveled manure, waited tables, survived cancer, driven a cash
register, swabbed toilets and once came that close to hypothermia. Fortunately, the hypothermia had nothing to do
with swabbing toilets. I also met my best friend (Tye) and we got married. Nowadays, I live quietly in the boondocks with
four cats, three border collies, an Australian shepherd dog, one husband and a family of barn swallows who nest over the
back window. Plus whatever else wanders down from the mountains.
It's all good.
Written at home this 10th day of January, 2013.
